How we work

Wherever your plan stands, we can help.

01

Plan Termination

We built the most efficient approach to termination in the industry.

Full standard termination of your pension plan: strategy, participant elections, insurer auction, settlement, and final filings. One team, one timeline, one clean exit.

02

Custom De‑risking Strategies

Not ready to terminate? We shrink your plan strategically.

Lump sum windows, retiree lift outs, targeted settlements, and interest rate arbitrage that cut premiums and volatility now while positioning the plan for a full exit later.

03

Ongoing Actuarial Services

Actuarial services with a de-risking mindset.

Same valuations, same certifications, same filings, every number looked at through a de-risking lens. We see plans with 1,000 participants where 800 are inactive. That doesn't happen overnight, and with us managing the plan it never will.

Plan at a glance

Start with what your plan costs.

Frozen or open, the answer starts in the same place. Search your company to see a snapshot of projected carrying costs and your termination readiness, built only with publicly available filing data.

Our proprietary PRT process

Four phases. One coordinated exit.

Phase 1

Readiness and strategy

Confirm plan data, funding needs, settlement approach, and proposed termination date.

Phase 2

Notices and filings

Issue required participant notices and prepare the standard termination filing.

Phase 3

Review and elections

Coordinate the applicable PBGC review, participant elections, and documented insurer evaluation.

Phase 4

Settlement and closeout

Complete benefit distributions after required waiting periods, secure annuity contracts, and finish post-distribution filings.

Workstreams may overlap. Timing depends on plan readiness, required notice and review periods, participant elections, and the work needed to settle benefits. PBGC standard termination requirements.

Participant experience

Your people are better off.

Our team is a resource to your participants throughout the PRT process, ensuring they understand their benefit change options before making a decision. Better participant experience leads to better financial outcomes for your business.

Option one

Lump Sum

Where the plan offers a lump sum, eligible participants can compare a one-time payment or rollover with their available annuity options. We provide clear explanations and individual support so each person can make an informed election.

Option two

Annuity

An insurer assumes responsibility for the benefits covered by the annuity contract. We help the plan fiduciary evaluate the insurer and contract terms through a documented selection process.

Insurer due diligence

Benefit security comes first.

Insurer selection goes beyond a credit rating or the lowest premium. We support the plan fiduciary’s evaluation under DOL Interpretive Bulletin 95-1, considering financial strength, benefit security, contract protections, administration, and price. Selecting the insurer remains a fiduciary responsibility.
